BLATEM develops new intumescent paints based on nanotechnology
During 2011, BLATEM has developed the project "Improvement of intumescent properties of paints based on use of nanomaterials" with the financing of IMPIVA and with the collaboration of AIDICO nanomaterial laboratory. Thanks to this innovative project have been achieved very promising results to improve the intumescent behavior of the paints thanks to the reinforced effect of the employed nanomaterials. The application of this nanotechnology avoids principally the formation of microcracks in the paints during the tests of fire resitance, allowing lengthen the period of isolation on steel structures in which they are applied.
