What is CE Marking?
The CE mark is based on the directive 93/68/EEC. The CE marking on a product indicates that it complies with all the essential requirements that applyunder EU directives that are application.That is, the testimony by the manufacturer that their products comply with legal and technical requirements of security of member states from the European Union. This implies that the product can be sold and put into legally service within the countries in the EU and therefore the Member states may not prohibit, restrict or prevent the placement in the product market.
It is absolutely essential that any marketed product or put into service possesses the appropriate CE mark. This does not imply that all products must bear the CE mark, since it is only required to hold only those products that are regulated by EU directives for CE marking.
It must be clear that the CE marking is not a quality mark and therefore don´t implies that the product offers a guarantee or extra quality of performance; CE marking is the fulfillment of minimum requirements related to security and legal prerequisite to commercialize a product. The quality marks will still exist, however, having it does not relieve or supersede the obligation to a CE marked.
How affects the paint the CE Marking?
Currently in the field of paints, CE marking is mandatory for manufacturers of products and systems for protection and repair of concrete structures.
