PINTURAS BLATEM obtain ISO 14001 Certification

The installation of a pioneer sewage treatment plant allows the valencian company  Blatem obtain ISO 14001 certification

  • The sewage treatment Station of Industrial Wastewater  (EDARI) of the firm based in Torrent reduces the environmental impact of industrial activity.

Valencia, 26 June 2012. The valencian company Pinturas Blatem has installed at its factory in Torrent (Valencia) a treatment plant of industrial wastewater (EDARI) pioneer in the national sector of painting.

The EDARI Pinturas Blatem is a facility dedicated to the cleanliness of those waters that result from the activity of its industrial plant. This reduces the contamination of water before being poured into the sewer system, in compliance with the provisions of the relevant ordinance. The sewage plant operation is based on different physical, chemical and biotechnological.
In a first treatment, separates the present contamination in the water in suspension, flotation or drag. Subsequently, an advanced oxygenation process attacks pollution of organic dissolved in water. Finally, another treatment removes the organic biodegradable load and refines some characteristics of the resulting water.
 
INTERNATIONAL NORM ISO 14001
 
Precisely, this has favored that the Valencian paint firm receives the international standard ISO 14001, which establishes the implementation of an effective environmental management system in order to achieve a balance between socio-economic interests and environmental protection. Coinciding with the month of the celebration of World Environment Day, Pinturas Blatem confirms, so, its foundational policy of respect for nature.

ISO 14001 certification aims to optimize the management of resources and waste
, reduce negative environmental effects arising from economic activity and prevent potential risks associated with accidental situations. To do so, is required to the accredited company  the creation of a continuous improvement plan that meets current legislation and the growing environmental demands of society.

Approved by the European Committee for Standardization and published by the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR)
in 1996, this norm systematizes a set of tools so the company can base the development of its products in the contrast of broad industry data on the environment, allowing also, compete more effectively in the market.
