Kit Rotularte

Glossy acrylic and polyurethane enamel, whose application on a surface allows to write with a marker and then erase as many times as desired. Among its main applications we can highlight meeting rooms or meetings in offices; design studios or creativity and rooms for children or teenagers.

What steps to follow to apply Rotularte? 

• Remove grease, dirt or contamination from the surface.
• Apply one coat of fixative Blatem FIJADOR ROTULARTE and let it dry for 2 hours.
• Mix 4 cups of paint ROTULARTE for 1 cup of hardener and remove the content.
• Apply a first coat of paint ROTULARTE with a roller.
• Leave to dry for a minimum of 2 hours. Then, just after 6 hours of the first coat, sand lightly with 180-grit sandpaper and clean the surface with a dry cloth.
• Apply a second coat. It can be applied without sanding if this step is performed 6 hours before.
• It is recommended to apply a third coat of paint ROTULARTE because the smoother the surface is, the better the final result. 
• Finally, wait 10 days so that the paint reaches its full cure before starting to draw or write on it with a marker.

Magnetic paint

This paint applies a magnetic effect on any surface in a quick and efficient way. Due to its composition, magnetic paint stands out because it does not contain lead. Instead, Blatem Magnetic Paint contains iron particles that allow any magnet to adhere to a painted surface with this product.

Moreover, its versatility is huge and it can be applied on walls, wood, light and galvanized metals, and many other surfaces.

Finally, Blatem magnetic paint is sold in black matte colour, in a container of 0.750 liters as in the following picture.

How to apply magnetic paint? 

1. Clean the surface.

2. Prepare the surface with the appropriate primer.

• On construction surfaces (cement, concrete, plaster, etc.); apply previously our Acrylic Sealer/Fixative (Fijador Sellador Acrílico)
• On metal surfaces, it is advisable to apply solvent-based or water-based synthetic primers or epoxy.
• On wood, apply our synthetic sealant Selladora Sintética Blatem.

3. Stir the product until it is homogenized.

4. Apply three coats of paint with a roller or a brush, undiluted and respecting the drying times and recoating (1h). When using an air spray gun, dilute with 10-20% of water.

5. Recoat with water-based paints of one or two components such as plastic paints, water-based acrylic enamel or Blatem Rotularte, obtaining in this case, an interesting combined effect of magnet and board.

Chalkboard Paint Illusion Paint

Water-based semi-matte paint designed to turn any surface into a board on which to draw and write in chalk.  In addition, it can be used for the painting and maintenance of existing boards.

Illusion Paint stands out for its perfect smooth finish, its covering power, elasticity, hardness and fast drying. In addition, its water-based composition turns it into an easy to apply paint, good performance and perfect leveling capability.

The paint is available in packs of 0,750 l and the colours available of this chalkboard paint are black, pink, mauve, green and slate green.

What tips should you follow to apply Illusion Paint?

Preparation of surfaces:

New: If they are plaster, apply a coat of acrylic fixative Fijador Acrílico first. If they are wood, apply our synthetic sealant Selladora Sintética  and sand lightly. If they are iron, apply a coat of Minio Antioxidante or Blatemprimer Sintética Antioxidante
Painted: If the paint is in good condition, simply wash, sand lightly to ensure anchoring and apply directly the paint Illusion Paint. If the paint is in poor condition, remove the paint completely, apply putty on the damages and repeat the treatment of the surfaces in good condition.

The paint can be applied with a brush, a roller or a spray gun. When diluting with water; for a brush or a roller approximately 10% and 20% for a spray-gun.
Apply 2 or 3 coats of paint depending on the surface to be painted. The drying time is 40-60 minutes and for a recoat 6-8 hours.
Allow to dry for a minimum of 3 days before using the board.

Recommendations to consider

• Use soft chalks. Hard ones can scratch the surface.
• Cleaning: Use a draft normally. If you want to make a more thorough cleaning, wipe with a damp cloth and let dry.
• To remove coloured chalks stains, due to its composition of waxes, use a damp cloth and some mild detergent (not too aggressive).
• For a better use of the product, stir the content of the container vigorously.
• You should also not paint in rainy weather nor at temperatures below 5 °C.
