The first "Ecolabel" to environmental excellence of spanish chemical industry goes to Pinturas Blatem.

Valencia, March 23 2015. The Valencian company Pinturas Blatem received this morning at its facilities the European Ecolabel, which certifies that its products offer maximum guarantees of environmental protection throughout its life cycle, that is, from manufacture to disposal passing through distribution and use. Thus, this company based in the town of Torrent has become the first in the chemical industry in Spain to receive this distinctive thanks to the low negative impact of its activity on environment.
The recognition was presented by Vicente Tejedo, The general director of environmental quality of the Valencian Generality, who highlighted the "high level of demand" of this label and the effort of Valencian companies in investment of 1.200 million Euros in ecological measures "without a penny of subsidy". On the other hand, the representative of the regional government has emphasized the benefits of this kind of distinctive. "Pinturas Blatem now has more security to better sell its products and works for a better environment for future generations", he concluded.
The event was also attended by María Muñoz, manager of the municipal company of innovation and economic development Idea't; adn José Santiago Miquel Soriano, third deputy mayor of Torrent. All of them have had the opportunity to visit the factory of Pinturas Blatem accompanied by its founder, José Luna; the environment and quality director of the company, Paco Castellote; the technical director, Pablo Hernando; the Marketing director, Nuria Luna; and the current manager, Susana Luna. Thus, they have seen firsthand the progress implemented in order to obtain the Ecolabel.
"To get it, we had to work hard and optimize our resources and waste management and reduce the environmental impact of our activities. And, of course, we had to prevent any risk associated with an accidental situation. Now our commitment to the environment is reafirmed". said Susana Luna. This label is added, for example, to the ISO 14001 certificate granted to Pinturas Baltem in 2012 for the installation of its own sewage treatment plant. In definitive, the company has been strengthened in the path to sustainability.
